Child Development

Child Development is studied at Key Stage 4 for GCSE.

The course consists of three units:

Unit 1

Parenthood, Pregnancy and the New-born Baby

External exam, 1 hour 15 minutes, includes multiple-choice, short and structured questions, and extended writing questions (first assessment Summer 2018).

Unit 2

The Development of the Child from 0–5 Years

External exam, 1 hour 15 minutes, includes multiple-choice, short and structured questions, and extended writing questions (first assessment Summer 2019).

Unit 3

Investigation Task

Controlled assessment, 3000 words, new task set every year (first assessment Summer 2019).
