Key Stage 4
Religious Education and Religious Studies GCSE
All students study RE at Key Stage 4 level. Those who choose to study full course Religious Studies complete two units: The Gospel of Mark, and an Introduction to Christian Ethics.
The study of Religion is open to all pupils and success is in no sense dependent upon a pupil's religious background or beliefs. This course allows pupils to study ethical issues such as abortion and euthanasia.
Assessment for the full course is through two written examinations, while the assessment of the short course is made through one written examination.
Textbooks, pupil workbooks and video material as well as internet resources are available to support the teaching of religious studies throughout Key Stage 4.
